Maria Butterfly-Wings
Hello my lovelies! I hope you are all well! When you are asked to create an art doll with a blue butterfly theme by the queen of butterflies herself, well, that’s a challenge! I enjoyed making Maria Butterly-Wings so much, being a butterfly enthusiast myself. Obviously making the butterflies themselves was my favourite part, and the most tricky! I must admit, I broke a few on the way, they are so delicate!
Here are interesting and fun butterfly facts:
There are 165,000 known species of butterflies found on every continent except Antarctica!
Butterflies can see red, yellow and green!
Butterflies taste with their feet!
Many adult butterflies never excrete waste – they use up all they eat for energy!
But apart from their biology and beauty I love butterflies because of their symbolism and their deep and powerful representation of life. The butterfly represents endurance, change, hope, resurrection, transformation and life itself.
