Elli In Red

Hello lovelies, hope you are all well today! I would love to introduce the sweet Elli, a commissioned art doll, created to be gifted to a very special godmother! Inspired by the adorable godchild herself, Elli poses in her favourite red dress surrounded by a few of her favourite things, a rainbow, a carousel and lots and lots of love! I loved making her cute curly hair!

Here are some special words I found to accompany Elli:

❝ When God created me he knew it’d be true,

that I’d have a lot of growing and learning to do.

I must stumble before I can walk,

I must babble before I can talk,

And just like I’ll learn to dance and sing songs,

I’ll have to learn my rights from my wrongs.

The role as my teacher is what God meant for you.

Will you hold my hand through all the learning I do?

Encourage me to be fair and always do my part,

Show me how to keep compassion and love in my heart.

Teach me to be patient and work till I’m through,

Be an example so I can grow just like you.

So take my hand and show me the way.

Our journey started on my Baptism Day! ❞

One of the things I absolutely love about my job is that I get to see glimpses of deep affection, appreciation and respect between people. The majority of my commissioned art dolls are created to be given as gifts and that makes them extra special: child to parent, parent to child, godparent to godchild, godchild to godparent, to a best friend, an exceptional teacher, a wonderful doctor, a workmate, a newborn, to name a few.

When we are continually bombarded with incidences of domestic violence, bullying, harassment, racism and conflict in general, it’s a wonderful thing to have real life evidence that LOVE IS STILL OUT THERE, in all shapes and forms, and that there is an innate human need for it to be celebrated!

So remember to show your love and appreciation. Make that phone call, send that letter (OK emails too, but letters are lovely), give that hug, say those words. Do it now. Don’t take anyone for granted. Don’t be afraid to show your love and appreciation, even if makes you feel vulnerable.

The heart that gives, gathers.
